Removal of Methylene Blue by Metal Oxides Supported by Oily Sludge Pyrolysis Residues

As a typical pollutant, methylene blue poses serious threat to the environment and human health. Oily sludge pyrolysis residue loaded with metal oxides could be used prepare composite materials, which is not only an effective way treat oily sludge, but also possible method pollutants. In this paper, materials (AC-CuO, AC-ZnO, AC-TiO2) were prepared by residue-loaded CuO, ZnO, TiO2 directly, characterized XRD, SEM, EDS, BET, FT-IR, XPS, it was shown that successfully supported on residue. Then, applied removal of solution. The effect respect impregnation time, ratio dosage, contact time number regenerations investigated, parameters optimized response surface methodology. process for described applying Lagergren, McKay, Langmuir isotherm, Freundlish isotherm intraparticle diffusion models. According methodology main factors affecting blue, results indicate 5 mg/L reach 95.28%, 94.95%, 96.96%, respectively, corresponding capacities 4.76, 4.75, 4.85 mg/g. addition, kinetic studies showed mainly constituted chemical adsorption. may controlled both liquid film diffusion. isotherms adsorption sites composites uniformly distributed had same affinity. Furthermore, regeneration experiments stable relatively reusability.
